Pravda Karin?? I sometimes feel witty with wine ;)..but i love the title...and the image...Like Von Stroheim's shot of Garbo beneath the veil: dual use of layers...here i love the blue veil hiding/re-creating the wine glass (as if 2 photos colliding: collage);multiple exposure effect, when it is simply the single view...quite beautiful...and suggestive...love the multiplicity of your work :)) krasivaya :) (although the wine looks almost like juice ;) )...well done...now have a glass or 3 ;)
OK, I'write in English. The title is a proverb and is not
related to the image in any way. An "anti" slogan/pronouncement
of the kind one can see too often now (think of anti-smoking
campaign)......
The image: rather simplistic. A still life without much
inventiveness.....
To sum up: the author needs criticism and encouragement, but
I do not understand the praise here.......
Basically my reaction is strongly negative because teh author
is trying to illustrate PC crap, and on a Russian site - the
worst place for that, trust me.

3: Misha, are you certain that Karin is trying to sloganize PC campaigns (by the way, I agree that PC behavior and language is shit, always). I believe, in fact, Karin is subverting the slogan--look at the subversion and playfulness in her other work. Moreover, simplicity of image does not necessary make for a "non-complex" image. There are multiple view going on visually, and this is achieved not through multiple exposure tehnique, but using the properties of light, color, and the veil (again, why I referenced Von Stroheims use of same technique). I agree that the this slogan is ridiculous (what would Voltaire think the father of wit), but I am convinced that Karin is not using it to promote such absurd, puritanical behavior, but quite the opposite--at least i hope ;).
Given the design of the image, and Karin's aesthetic, I cannot think of suggestions to improve or chastise. I could be wrong, but i think, judging from her previous work, there is something here more interesting than sloganizing...but the opposite :))...p.s. i smoke like a chimney and drink like a walrus, just to be politically open ;)...
I do not think this is PC propaganda (кстати, если кто-то не знаком с термином - "PC" в данном контексте не имеет отношения к компьютерам, а значит "политическая корректность" - т.е. не пить, не курить, не говорить ничего что может быть хоть как-то истолковано, етц.)... only question is, why what looks like red wine is in a martini glass? ;^)
Dmitri, vy estet....Napominaet mne stseny iz fil'ma: James Bond vstrechaetsja so svjaznym, kotoryj okazyvaetsja svoim ny.. - iz sistemy priviligerovannyh shkol, vseh znaet i nazyvaet po imeni.. Oni idut v vagon-restoran (delo v poezde), gde svjaznoj zakazyvaet rybu i krasnoe vino. Posle uzhina v kupe sbjaznoj objavljaet chto on agent KGB (ili SMERSHa, ne pomnju) i nachinaet Bonda ubivat'.... Spravivshis' s etoj nebol'shoj neprijatnost'ju, Bond smotrit na trup vraga i govorit ssamomu sebe s yprekom: "Ryba i krasnoe - ja dolzhen byl srazy ponjat'".........;).........
