Vadim! :)). I will admit, that I think the "high key portrait" in the Gallery is brillant, absolutely brillant--and superior photograph to this one. I hope, and suggest, that people look at that portrait, because it is absolutely powerful, technically accomplished...and really, for reportage of the street, quite significant in my estimation. As for this photo, again, I am simply dumbfounded as to the scores. Its ridiculous...while it is not abstract, or "intellectually" daunting as your abstract work, it is simply the brillant, and quite complex, photograph. First: his is technically strong: light, sharpness, composition, fields of view (what is focused and what is not). Secondly, it is an absolutely fantasic chorus of faces: notice how one can draw a musical line from the figure on the left through all the boys and the artist, and accomplish a very strange story. Notice who looks at the camera...notice the relationship between actual faces and the drawn, notice the music behind the moment...notice the clausterphobia....to my thinking, when a photograph is made of genre, streetlife, it should reveal something about the moment: for me: this is a photograph about community, friendship...its strong, lovely work. dont be discouraged Vadim! :)
